how do you get recorded tv info or guide info from mcml in c#?

as text comes off as a crappy way to communicate, my question isn't as forceful as it seems, but, why hasn't microsoft come up with a way to give us a ''what you see is what you get'' designer for media center? see, compared to wpf, media center has been around longer, and they already are in their third edition of expression blend. why isn't ...

can you point me in the direction of an example of code?

is it possible to startup, for example xbox 360, and boot to media center from mcml?  so can i start watching a movie on my htpc in vmc, and halfway through, make the 360 in my bedroom finish it?  can i use media center to shut it down too?  without ir?

so before i rant here, i have to commend charlie on helping streamline the installer.  but as someone trying to learn, why did you throw a whole bunch of stuff into a ''template'' in the sdk?  it should be blank, no?  first of all, if i try to change the name from ''Application1'' to something else, then hit f5 to compile it for ha ...

why does the sdk need to make everything harder than it is.  it's like an easter egg hunt with alice in wonderland.  it can't just explain everything easily and just tell you what you need, it tells you you need 4 different things, then gives links to them but never tells you how to use them with examples for it.  god, just kill me ...

let's say i have working code from c# and it debugs fine in teh mcml sampler, how do i package it up to test it in media center?
